Academic Policies
ZAPZ Prep Virtual Private School • Standards, Expectations & Academic Integrity
ZAPZ Prep maintains clear academic policies to ensure fairness, consistency, and high expectations across all grade levels. These policies guide attendance, grading, integrity, engagement, and mastery‑based progression. All students and families are expected to follow the guidelines outlined below.

- Attend scheduled live classes
- Complete weekly assignments and quizzes
- Participate in Advisor check‑ins

Grading & Mastery
ZAPZ Prep uses a mastery‑based grading system. Students must demonstrate proficiency before moving forward.
- 80% mastery required on major assessments
- Students may revise work to improve mastery
- Grades reflect understanding, not seat time
- Mastery checkpoints determine course progression
- Teachers provide feedback within 48–72 hours
Late Work & Extensions
ZAPZ Prep supports flexible pacing, but students must maintain consistent progress. Late work policies:
- Assignments may be submitted late with Advisor approval
- Extensions granted for illness, emergencies, or documented needs
- Chronic late submissions trigger intervention support
- Students must follow pacing plans to remain on track
Academic Integrity
ZAPZ Prep expects all students to complete their own work and demonstrate honesty in all academic activities. Violations include:
- Plagiarism or copying work
- Using AI or tools to complete assignments dishonestly
- Sharing answers or test content
- Impersonating another student
- Submitting work not created by the student
Consequences may include assignment resets, course resets, parent meetings, or academic probation.
