ZAPZ Prep Attendance Policy
Requirements for daily attendance, participation, excused absences, and virtual engagement at ZAPZ Prep Virtual School.
1. Definition of Attendance
At ZAPZ Prep, attendance is based on a combination of:
- Live class participation.
- ZAPZ Academy module completion.
- Advisor check‑ins.
- Daily log‑ins to the learning platform.
2. Daily Expectations
Students are expected to:
- Log in each school day.
- Attend all scheduled live sessions.
- Complete assigned ZAPZ Academy work.
3. Excused vs. Unexcused Absences
Excused absences may include:
- Illness.
- Medical appointments.
- Family emergencies.
- Religious observances.
Parents must notify the school and provide documentation when required.
4. Reporting Absences
Parents should report absences through the parent portal or by contacting the school office on the same day when possible.
5. Truancy & Chronic Absences
Repeated unexcused absences may result in:
- Advisor and Support Coach intervention.
- Parent conferences.
- Attendance improvement plans.
- Possible withdrawal for non‑attendance.
6. Make‑Up Work
Students are responsible for completing missed work. Teachers and advisors will support reasonable make‑up timelines.
